Masks for thee, but not for me ...

  Pictured above are the 3 stooges, a slapstick trio who were a seminal influence in Bagholders childhood. They would routinely undertake mundane everyday tasks - like walking through a door (pictured above) - and fail at them, often in spectacular fashion.  Notice in the photo above there is a doorway, plenty big enough for any of the stooges to get through. But in typical stooge manner, they attempt to go through the door simultaneously - shoulder to shoulder - which prevents any of them from getting through.  All of which brings us to the topic of todays discussion:

                                                              Masks, and their efficacy.

  

 Fauci has claimed on many occassions wearing a mask is one of the best things you can do to prevent the spread of the Virus.

  Bagholder will explain today, why Fauci’s claim is patently absurd.  Lets  begin with the N95 mask - this is the top of the line in masks.  Why is it the top of the line? Because the pores (think doorway) in the mask are the smallest available in masks averaging only 300 Nanometers in diameter. In plain English, this means particles bigger than 300 nanometers will be stopped, because they can not fit through the pores. Particles under 300 nanometers in size, for the most part will get through. Think of the mask like a chain link fence, it works great at keeping out the neighbors dog; because the dog cannot fit through the pores in the fence.  

  According to Google, on average Corona virus particles are between 70 and 90 nanometers in diameter. For simplicity sake, lets just round it up to 100.  So for the N95 mask to successfully filter out the Virus - the pores would have to be smaller than 100 nanometers. The n95 mask has pores 3 times the size of the Virus. Meaning the only Virus being filtered out is the 3 Stooge variant of Corona Virus which stands shoulder to shoulder simultaneously and attempts to pass through the N95 pore.  Sadly, there are no masks on the market with pores smaller than 100 nanometers. Which now brings us to the guy on Faucis right in the photo. He is wearing this extremely common surgical mask manufactured by 3M. 

  According to the 3M website - link here,  the pore size on these masks averages more than 100,000 nanometers. Yes, a hundred thousand!!  Meaning the pore is 1000 times larger than the virus. To put that in perspective, the chainlink fence we talked about earlier would be far more successful at keeping mosquitos out of your yard than these 3M masks are at filtering Virus. Cloth masks, no matter how tight the weave, are even worse. Right about now Bagholder can hear some of you saying the Virus could be attached to something bigger than the pores of the mask like a biddle of spit, won’t the mask work then? I suppose it would.  Truthfully speaking though, if you need to wear a mask to keep from ingesting other peoples spit, the Corona Virus is the least of your problems.

  This all begs the question, if there is little to no efficacy in masks - why are we being told to wear them? Any animal trainer worth their salt would tell you the first step in taming wild animals & making them obedient subjects is to isolate them. 

The masks are (one of) the ruling classes tools of (dehumanizing) isolation.   

The sheer number of folks parading around with masks on is very disturbing, because theirs is the mindset of an obedient - non critically thinking - slave/prisoner.   Just because they do not live behind actual bars does not mean they aren’t caged. Difficult to blame many of the folks, as there is psychological comfort in getting up everyday, moving with the herd, just doing what you are told without a thought. The comfort is not without cost though, and that cost is Freedom. 

You have to be stooge to pay that price.
